Anomaly Reports
In spaceflight, an anomaly is a deviation from expected performance. Astronauts and Mission Control identify proximate and contributing causes and develop fixes and workarounds to ensure crew safety and mission success. NASA engineers and design teams pursue the root cause to help prevent similar anomalies in the future.
Astronauts For America applies that same discipline to our republic, treating American ideals, including our founding values, constitutional principles, and institutional norms, as mission-essential. Our goal is to identify emerging problems, understand their causes, and offer practical recommendations before they become more serious. This work is nonpartisan and informed by subject matter experts. Our reports fall into three categories:
America, We Have a Problem
Examines one American ideal at a time, identifying where reality may be diverging from our founding aspirations.

Freedom of the Press
When press freedom is eroded, the public’s ability to make
informed decisions, and hold power accountable, is gravely diminished.

We give power through our vote, and we can take it back.
Free and Fair Elections
Trust in our elections has eroded due to claims of voter fraud, despite no evidence.
Freedom of Speech
A people who cannot speak freely in criticism of the government cannot effectively defend their rights.
The Rule of Law
Everyone is accountable under the law.
Equal Protection
Government must apply the law evenhandedly and may not sort people into classes it treats differently without good reason.
Religious Freedoms
Religious Liberty is guaranteed by the very first words of the First Amendment.
Failure Is Not an Option
Examines a specific failure or threat, identifies its proximate, contributing, and root causes, and recommends actions for leaders, institutions, and We the People.
Power of the Purse
Freezing funds over political differences threatens local communities. Citizens: demand rigorous hearings to strictly enforce the Impoundment Control Act.
The Boat Strikes: Lethal Force
In less than a year, U.S. forces have killed at least 231 people in 69 strikes destroying 70 small watercraft suspected of carrying drugs, without showing evidence that any boat carried narcotics.

Federal Workforce Firings
The executive branch removed tens of thousands of career civil servants without notice and shut down agencies Congress created. On July 3, 2026 a federal appeals court held that agencies must follow their own binding rules.
